What is the ZID, my animal's digital identification?
The ZID is a unique, immutable Zoolinko identifier (for example ZL-BE-2026-084127) assigned to every animal when its profile is created. It is linked to its 15-digit microchip, tattoo and EU passport, without ever replacing them. The animal keeps it for life, even with a new guardian, and a QR code brings up its profile instantly.
Does the digital health record replace the paper booklet?
It complements it. Vaccines, deworming, weight curve, consultations, prescriptions and documents live in one online record, visible to you and your veterinarian. The history follows the animal for its whole life, including when it changes family. Official prescriptions are still issued by your vet under the applicable regulations.
How do I transfer my animal to a new guardian?
Transfers always require double consent: you initiate the transfer, the new guardian accepts it, and every step is timestamped and logged. The full health record follows the animal. A veterinarian or a shelter can also initiate a transfer, but nothing ever happens without the explicit agreement of both guardians.
How do I find an on-call veterinarian?
The public directory lists Zoolinko-labelled practices and shows ongoing on-call shifts, with a clickable phone number and the address. In an emergency, you can send your animal's complete record to the on-call vet: a temporary, secure 72-hour access that you can revoke.
Does Zoolinko know my animal's age and birthday?
Yes. The profile computes your animal's age from its birth date and sends you a notification on its birthday. It is also the basis of vaccine reminders: Zoolinko warns you 30 days and then 7 days before every due date.
How much does Zoolinko cost?
Zoolinko is free for guardians, and will stay free. During the launch phase, every feature is also free for veterinarians and shelters. The terms of future practice plans will be announced in advance, with lifetime benefits for founding practices: contact us if you would like to talk about them.
